Swept up in economic ever spiraling frenzy Chaotic days now seem to taunt and tease me And I wonder is romance lost in the death of chivalry Or am I viewing it from a life I face independently There is no story book “ever after happily” Only this moment in time to enrapture me Mind fades from views seen with eyes cynically I peer deeper into imaginative fantasy While fingers slide and touch flesh most caressingly Stories building of Knights sitting high on ebon steeds Carrying shields and swords to protect those so maidenly I scoot deeper as water laps a body most lovingly Whispers beseech with a tone almost pleadingly “Calgon, Sir Calgon, take me away.I beg of thee.” And heights are reached in a crescendo most musically World forgotten ‘til water cools inevitably Each small splash reminds a body most chillingly That each tomorrow seems to arrive a bit more early And fantasies are pushed aside by thoughts more worldly But, when, again, the nights blanket the skies so darkly There in the bath I will lie in so dreamily And paint pictures of stories and fantasy To write on pages once pure and so empty. aziza |
