Chicken Soup, they say, is good for the soul So dive in with enthusiasm and fill up your bowl The pot’s filled with chicken and so many things nice It’s seasoned with love to add flavor and to simply entice Relax while you eat it and have seconds or more Chicken soup is a soul food that I simply adore It comforts me in times when my heart seems to break It is sprinkled with kindness and jars my senses awake Chicken soup appeases my troubles and rocks my mind to rest This soup is so good – might be the best I’ve had yet I’ll curl up with a good book and sip in the dusk of the day The broth warms my tummy and keeps the monsters at bay Chicken soup is a creature comfort that I’ll forever hold dear When I smell its aroma it’s like my Mother is near It snuggles me and wraps me in warmth to my bones When I drink chicken soup I have finally come home. So you can eat it with noodles or try it with rice A stack of crackers beside you is really quite nice Slurp it or sip it or drink from straw in a cup It doesn’t really matter – it will just cheer you up aziza |

Yeah....I'm another one about to go to bed and now feeling hungry!! What are matzoh balls and can we get them in New Zealand? Great write! The greatest thing you can do for another is not just to share your own riches...but to reveal to him his own. |

One's soul finds it's comfort in numerous things, your poetry's message refreshingly sings of just how all the memories that we hold so dear can bring all our loved around us so near. They reside in our heart, like your soup keep us warm. Both bring us comfort when riding life's storm. Like your soup they will lift us wherever we roam, for partaking of either you're truly at home. Loved your poetry Aziza, even in the darkest storm, a smell, a word, or any little thing can prove the comfort that directs you back to the sunshine. I can't think of anything better than chicken soup though... except mushroom soup of course! Ivor |
