In this least little vessel made of love— I’ll finally rest the day I met you dressed in blue That autumn night beneath your stars— the moment I saw you close those eyes placing a hand in mine The way your hair spread in the wind— over the pillow as we lay together under an amber moon Words we said will go as well All I was when you were near— Cast adrift without recourse into a nameless universe Free at last in time’s indifference— and away from harm by lesser gods . |
