Vision You say when you close your eyes, you see me. You say when you touch her, you close your eyes. The light came in early then and I could still hear you over the angry morning alone, exposed, but near you- a vision of our shadows long after you'd gone home to lay and close your eyes hidden away but not alone- and when I closed my eyes they filled with seas of sorrow hurrying the darkness that would justify tomorrow- The darkness comes in early now silence across the sun, in emptiness of you, I think what is it I should have done to save the vision from its demise, to prevent the oceans' turn to mist? I go home and close my eyes and I wonder if you exist. |
