"Here lies one whose name was writ in water." --the words John Keats requested for his own tombstone. Write on, my friend....and remember some words I've shared with you, that too often in this place, if you write deep, your response will be shallow. You're beyond most of us -- know that. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> ______________Ratleader______________ |

John I haven't been around much, but glad this poem was pointed out to me. "So write on And do not care" If only it was that easy. |

Though the tone of this is sad, I think the words are wise... Some of the finest poets don't find the recognition they deserve when it's due... They write because they must... and someday, they're "discovered"... and only their words are left to answer the questions of what inspired such genius. We have a couple of terribly underrated poets here... You are one, sir. |

John~ You know what ? Personally, I kind of like finding zeros ... for they are often the well-kept poetic secrets that I can enjoy discovering just when someone thinks they've disappeared~ I reckon that's one reason I spend a lot of time digging through the archived pages at PiP ... unearthing some undiscovered treasures~ I so enjoy reading you ... and though I don't always reply ... you can darned well bet your bottom dollar that I've read it~ *HUGLETS* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

Thank you all Though not autobiographical, still with such ignoring by chance or otherwise of “Birchwood Lodge” I do feel a certain empathy. As for myself, Mark Strand, my favorite, said it best when he acknowledged that most poetry is unread, or, if it is, forgotten in it’s own time, let alone after, so we write to illuminate ourselves, not to others, but to and beyond who we think we are. “Poetry is essentially the soul’s search for its release in language.” Joseph Brodsky I believe that. Thanks again John |

perhaps life got in the way of several forms of enjoyment... I remember seeing some passages and titles, but did not have time to roam that road. Thank goodness for weekends. |

I have no real intelligent reply to this like the other Ed. )I'm the dimmest of the two Ed's.) All I can really do is thank you for writing this because as a certified loser, I can appreciate this more than you know. So thank you... - Dim Ed Head Cheese & Chicken Feet |
