dark of leftover night through life window see in blue I sit at kitchen table coffee lips not quite awake you pad about in morning feet tending little chores your smile tips itself my way tired content my eyes reach for it slowly sipping memory of night before yielding feel of knowing each other like old books my blue robe like the quiet waiting your hand on my shoulder my mind leaning on your hip bone our eyes search table knowing where the first yellow rays will lay themselves where they have always laid themselves silent hearts bound and tied watching the day be born |

though I misread the title earlier (read it as 'widow' instead of 'window') and had a very difficult time reconciling this beautiful write with my mistaken title, came back to it with glasses on and appreciate it so much more...lovely...(and the title now makes sense) |
