My Love, how doth my heart to thine its love Proclaim - when each contracted deed one thought: The fixed etching of thy face; how to prove Thy doubtful heart my worth, when mine is wrought With the spell of thine, but the mind will fail To awake the tongue from its frosted bed — Oh, how thou hast captured me! Now my sail, Thy love its only force, to thee is led; My compass - the bright star within thine eye; The flame that glows inside thy heart the sun That giveth love and warmth - else all should die... But with my lips on thine we breathe as one: With each new breath I give my life to thee, And with thine, thou sustains the life in me. CG |
