atop the ridge that guards the verdant plain a sandhill crane in silent watch surveys the bluestemmed prairie ever wary of the night, the dark and shadowed night of coyote's bite the Kansas wind blows ever hard and ever strong in nature's long seeking out of midnight's lone and sad refrain the moonless plain when suddenly into the black and shadowed night crane's sudden flight [This message has been edited by Tim (02-07-2007 08:38 AM).] |
