![]() Start Where You Want To Finish My dear friend, I truly am so sorry your heart got broken today Life has a way of sending love's sorrow a woman's way. If I could, I'd surely take away all your tears, and pain, But then? What experience from all this would you ever gain? Look! I'm not here to say, “I told you so,” and you know I could. I'm not here to point a finger, or even say to you, “You should.” What I think about all this doesn’t even mean a thing, I've felt the sting too of giving back my wedding ring. I now live by a rule I have, and boy, it sure works well for me. Me, be someone's doormat, no way! Now finally I know how to be. I now apply the, “Start Where You Want To Finish” rule, Learned it well the hard way, and not in any school. In other words, make sure you want to cook and clean, Wait on him hand and foot; eat salad, and stay lean. Or – you could be up front with him right from the very start, and ... Make sure that sweetheart of yours IS prepared to do his part. See, we woman were born with charm and a certain sex appeal. We can make any man's knees go weak. So listen, here's the deal … If you want his help, then ask for it! Don’t hint to that poor jerk, Like if you need a hand with the kids, the yard, or all of that housework. We women tend to approach life with our hearts, and not really with our heads, All this time we had the power. Hey? Who makes up that messed up bed? Don't hint, just be direct, say what you want, and what you need. “Start where you want to finish”, it's up to you to take the lead. It takes two to get married, and two to make those children too, So why does it take one to do the housework, this I ask of you? This is 2007 girl; I have to wonder, who waits on you by the way? You work; he works, hey, come on, really, so at the end of the day … Speak up! Yes, speak up girl, that man just can't read your mind. Use my little rule to secure a marriage of the very best kind. Learn from this experience, now you know what it's about. Next time girl, discuss your rules, if you have to, SHOUT THEM OUT! Say, "I'll do half, you do half, that’s what our marriage is about" "We'll compromise with each other if we need to get out." "I'll cut the grass while you golf, if you will cook the dinner, While I get my massage?" Now see? That's a recipe for a winner! ![]() ![]() Carpe' Diem [This message has been edited by Mysteria (02-05-2007 03:40 PM).] |

Ah Sy, I know that for sure, and there are exceptions, but this girl was married to laziest ass I ever met in my entire life. He didn't work, she did, and expected his dinner made when she got home. She finally got smart, and threw him and his golf clubs out, but unfortunately after having three kids, and taking it for far longer than she should have. Strange thing about women - we hint about at what we want for some the most part - well most women, I don't ![]() |

Sound advice from a woman who appears to know what she's talkin' about! There will far too many women readers (like myself, for instance!) who will be identifying with this poem ~ and then hopefully, learning from it! ~ If only I had known! ![]() From my own experience, when that ring came off my finger ~ one also came off of my nose! Tell your friend from me, that endings leave you open for new, and brighter beginnings! ![]() A wonderful right of a write, Sharon! ![]() Linda |

Gee, I always had to mow the grass after I got back from golfing. If she wanted a massage, I had to take her out to dinner. I needed better advice ![]() Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write. |

![]() Oh, I have a feeling a lot of us can identify with this one. I know over the years I learned more with each marriage, I can sure tell you that! I love all men, that is why I am now just about perfect, un-married, and staying that way, and just so darn FULL of advise. ![]() Don't get me wrong, those that got marriage right, all the power to them as I sure believe in a "good" marriage, but I sure never could get it right. I am just too stubborn and independent I guess. What I really need myself now is a WIFE! |

Now if this wasn't written for a certain someone, then by golly, I'm going to make sure it's sent on. For I know a very good friend who needs just this very thing. And you wave that flag, m'friend. For the School of Hard Knocks is one education that no money can buy. ![]() |

It took me one marriage and a few years into the second one to learn this lesson -- slow learner, I guess....lol. But, the important thing is, I have learned it!!! Absolutely stellar advice for a woman considering marriage, Sharon! Very cute, too! *hugs*....jo |

BRAVO!!!! I start all my relationships this way. If you can love me at my worst you deserve me at my best otherwise there's the door. "The only way to learn to fly is to spread your wings and jump." |

Hi there, Sharon, my friend. I sure do like your rule. And, you know what? I have been going by a rule like that for quite some time, now. And, it definitely works for me. |

Sharon...pretty smart advice you give....I sure wish it didn't take most of a life to learn it the only way you can, by living it. Great Poem!! ![]() |

Thank you for reading this - and I am happy to report she actually did not take him back so far - that is a very good sign. Well, we have to live it before we learn it, in most cases anyway. |
