Some days my mind plays tricks on me, the past becomes the present. I smile, then wake to find it was a dream of life when pleasant. When worry was a shared expense, when loving eased the pain, when everything was everything, and nothing needed gain. Those days I wish, were well behind, so life in meaning seems to bring alive the everything in real instead of dreams. I press my thoughts to hold them in, but feelings trickle through. This winter's cold has seeped inside exposed to wishes new. Some days my mind plays tricks on me, as this is one of those, I'll close my eyes remembering the beauty of one rose.
