 . The sun pierces, emerging through spiderwebs of branches: Burnt by heat and hardened by frost. White needle beams Fingertips of heaven Reaching out to scratch.. perhaps my eyes or mosquito bites on a child's knee. A gentle angel manicure, broken from too much thunder bowling. Windowshades attempt to hide my face from peering lashes. The skies swirl scarlet, puce, and gold And soothe the tempermental king of the sun. He sleeps. Sister moonsilver contrast against velvet ocean expanse. Cubic zirconia stars scatter and settle into Cassiopeia and Orion. Night reigns. . |
