Storms come in destruction amasses and houses collapse in the ashes safe havens destroyed families torn apart like two ships colliding on an oceans tide leaveing us remebering when a brother was a brother in whom you could confide a sister a sister and a friend to the end when a Mom could be a Mom no one had to pretend now all that seems so long ago what happened to happiness? that's what I'd like to know |

Yes, welcome to our poetry community, and your poem has been a theme running in this forum for a few years now. Although I live so far away from all the devastation nature has been taking on the US, I feel it just the same with my heart. Sadly, people change during a time of pain don't they? Hope you enjoy the site, and I will watch for you. |

Hello, Kit! Welcome to this home of poetic kindred spirits. The havoc and devastion wreaked by natural disasters can be so overwhelmingly gut-wrenching. You wrote well of this. Giving you a warm, welcoming hug, Earth Angel |

Kit, Maybe I got it wrong, but I did not read this as anything to do with natures disasters, unless of course you class mankind as nature! I think this was a well written piece of poetry showing you despair with the things that are happening to people and families. There are some families that stay together, trusting and loving. There are some that split up, lie and deceive and eventually see the error of their ways and again unite. Unfortunately more and more people are drifting apart not worrying about the family values that used to exist. If this is written from personal experience I hope things improve. Welcome to PIP and I look forward to more of your work.... Ivor The moment created this second, is a moment that's going to last. |
