Waiting For My Ship To Come In By Paul Wilson Chance of a lifetime on the line sky’s the limit he said Untold wealth our reward dreams of riches dancing in my head I’ll be there right on time count me in on your plan Nothing can keep me from my goal without a doubt I’m your man Tossing and turning all night long counting sheep was no use Endless lines across the sky tonight what’s the sandman’s excuse Morning comes three hours early five o’clock shadow well past nine Hit the floor running I’m already three hours behind No time for breakfast this morning hot coffee will have to wait Today will change my life forever come hell or high water I can’t be late Traffic moving at snails pace all the lights stuck on red Come on people …get a move on it if I miss this ship I’m dead I missed the proverbial ship again today an unexpected stop I had to make Nature was calling loud and strong I had to take a bathroom break Oh well another chance down the pipe’s maybe tomorrow I’ll try again I’ll be ready this time for sure waiting for my ship to come in ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul |
