Reliving days of yesteryear Recalling days of pain Summoning pictures of loved ones Bringing them closer once again Feeling the same foreboding Walking that valley of fear Trying to hold on To those we loved so dear Re-examining choices made What if I'd done this? Should I have taken the other road? What signposts did I miss? Was it karma or bad choices That led to some regrets? We cannot change what was Nor ever bring back the past But only savor the memory Of a love that will always last. |

"We cannot change what was Nor ever bring back the past But only savor the memory Of a love that will always last." How very true Bea~And perfectly said. In the midst of winter, |

Bea, I am so sorry, I loved your poem but you know what a twisted sense of humour I have at times. I couldn't help thinking how it would alter the poem to SLIGHTLY alter the last two lines: But only savor the memories And hope they won't be our last! Sorry Bea I love you really, now where can I hide..... Ivor |

Thanks Seymour...isn't it interesting that the thorns somehow enhance the rose's beauty! Bea |
