Reflections

Touch the water of reflection
It drifts into eternity
Break the smooth of its connection
It circles to infinity

You cannot hold onto a dream
It’s made of vapors mist undone
And though it has desires gleam
It disappears in morning’s sun

Take the night for what its worth
The treasures that the mind will wring
Those fancy phantoms of the earth
The knights and queens that love will bring

So cast your net upon the sea
And reap the bounty that you get
Play the mist that brews the tea
And never weigh it as a debt

It is a gift of night time order
Unless, unless you touch the water

Seymour, this is so beautiful. As always! I do alot of reflecting. As for dreams, I have hung onto quite a few. Maybe it is time for me to let go of some of those dreams.

"Touch the water of reflection

As soft and gentle as a whisper
...or a lover's sigh.
Beautiful write dear Sy.

Well Sir Sy...you have outdone yourself with this one.  Too many of us are afraid to touch the water, afraid that our dreams will disappear. Well done my friend.

Good morning, Mr. T.!

I read your poem so many times, that I realized that it must surely be another

You write magic, Sir Sorcerer!

Methinks thy pen be a wand!

If it's a reflection in water, don't touch it. LOL
