REVERIE ROMANCE Last night you were in my dreams You were the girl I always wanted you to be Time was like a feather in the wind Passing one moment too late for us to begin I'm stuck in this box without a light left hoping you'll come and let me out tonight But this first-blush is pathetic and grey Somehow I've managed to let you slip away But now you're gone, you and Mr. Roué While I'm left playing out some heartsick screenplay This ending I swear is all a mistake It breaks me in places that just shouldn't break I'm stuck in this box without a light left hoping you'll come and let me out tonight But this first-blush is pathetic and grey Somehow I've managed to let you slip away Tomorrow's dream is another chance I'll find the courage I need for this reverie romance © Steve Nelson |

Thank you very much. I felt a little strange. This is my first post on here in 7 years. Even then, I think I only posted a handful. But I'm looking forward to more posts and of course, reading othere people's poems. That's my favorite part. |
