Breathing

Standing here . . .
in the center of the room
where we spend our nights . . .
I breathe you,
my body flushing with warmth
when I think of the things
we've done and said.
I breathe you,
following your scent from room to room
throughout the house,
wanting, anticipating,
needing to hear your car in the drive,
your key in the door -
needing to see your eyes meet mine
just before we stand there,
in the center of the room
where we spend our nights,
breathing,
our bodies flushed with the warmth
of things we're going to say and do.
Breathing one another
in ways that only we can do -
together.

"I breathe you"
Oh how lovely and quietly passionate this piece is. Like a whisper of a kiss
