he breathed voice into my ear
like a gap
which peers
into deep murky blackness
glimmering
some unaccustomed
infection
about to take control
snarling
visionary
exuberance
perverse

and I

I

soaking in exchanged
compromise
as life
pushed me away
evoking pain
of a whole other kind

suffering in silence…
naked, emaciated
curled into a
bone-cracking puppet
melting every
personal thought
into dull
kelpy brown eyes
of the mind

you'd give anything
for it "not to be true"
harrowing denouncement
of self worth
dark universe
smearing slanderous
visitations of abyss
burping
a deep monstorous
sea
of
chronic starvation
life as I knew it
slowly evaporating
into thin air
blindsighted
by some
nature of consciousness

sublimital
brainwashing
silent linguestic void
sendiment
clicking hisses
as it tears away
at the flesh of time

isolated from
family
friends

alone with no moral support

calculating
manipulative

is this "the end?"

for anyone who has been blind sided by the
mastery of control

Been there Lee, I understand your heart here!

J. M. Barrie, the playwright, may have said it best when he wrote, “God gave us memories so that we might have roses in December.”

Awww! Lee! :sqeeze:  I've been there, too, boxed and slotted into oblivion at times, and can really realate to this masterful poem.  It speaks powerfully, especially to silence, isolation, and loneliness.  ~Karen

LJ:
Very impressive the insight you have.  It’s almost scary.
But that’s you; the ability to see a situation and invoke your understanding into such perfectly formed verses.  Your expression here is captivating for minds absorption.

You are one brave lady.

You dive deep, m'friend, and this, I am saving.

You not only claim your own shadow--but invite others to join.

Brava!

This might be for a friend, but I think you must have known such pain to write it with such emotion, on the other hand I think you have the talent to write about anything
It's good to see your picture and your smile. I hope you are well
