(This is based on a popular Oriental festival known as Tanabata (translated as "weaving with the loom placed on the shelf) and myth of two star-crossed lovers who were seperated from the god of the skies because deep love for one another distracted them from their weaving and herding, but out of compassion the god of the skies allowed these two lovers to meet one day a year: on the seventh day of the seventh month each year. I had originally penned this three years ago, and somehow it fell between the cracks the past two years and I'll never understand how that could have happened, as I find this to be one of my personal favorites I've written, but will see to it it's not overlooked again, yay!  )*  Half Moon On The River Of Heaven By: Noah Eaton 7/7/04 As far as you take me, is as far as I'll reach you, as far as you believe, is as far as I'll believe you, this evening we will meet, please don't shed a tear, when this year's kiss is complete, tomorrow only starts another year... . . . . . Weaver princess, tonight I'm paddling the half moon, on the river of heaven, floating on the laves, through silver rain and typhoons, we've spelled from months of lament... . . . . . I'll never understand the god of the skies, and how he conjures up the rain, when it drizzles it brings us together, when it pours it has us seperate, every king needs his cloth, every cow needs to be grazed, perhaps priceless love is just the problem, what else is there to give away? . . . . . but the god of the skies, no, he's not to blame, we're still weaving from the same loom, bless him for this sacred night, there you'll be standing on Amanogawa's bank, I'll be reaching out to you in the light of the moon... . . . . . Weaver princess, tonight I'm paddling the half moon, on the river of heaven, floating on the laves, through silver rain and typhoons, we've spelled from months of lament... . . . . . Safety and good health rides, upon a thousand cranes, across the wings of magpies, your beaconing heart guides my way, across the undefined divine, across all delusion and uncertainty, through meadows of feathers and porcelain wine, your transcendental vibration quivers me... . . . . . Weaver princess, tonight I'm paddling the half moon, on the river of heaven, floating on the laves, through silver rain and typhoons, we've spelled from months of lament... . . . . .
