The Bite I bit into an apple raw Deep down until I reached the core And there a seed caught in my tooth Now could this be the seed of truth? I put the seed atop my palm And looked at it in puzzled qualm Could this be the key to more? The key to open up the door I cut the seed to see inside To find the truth it held in hide But all I found was white of pulp That dried my throat and made me gulp It was that moment there and then The seed was but a part of Zen The whole for its regenerate The process of rejuvenate It was the counter will of prime The adjunct of the spill of time |

I too bit hard and found a seed but mine alas made my mouth bleed Enjoying not the spill of blood I wondered if I ever should Pick apples from the tree of fruit delicious yes, I'll not dispute but buried in my flesh of gum the meal I fear is not much fun But you my friend, in perfect rhyme take apples and make them divine you've also made me love the way by word of thought you have your say! Seymour, It's never too old to teach an old dog new tricks..... even from an older dog! Ivor |
