My cup of hope flows passed its fill
But this my heart is empty still
Yet wait and wait it shall until
The time for love is true

These wishes may not come to me
The time of right may never be
My one true love may never see
No matter what I do

The longing tells the heart a tale
Truth reveals a win or fail
Voyage sets the quest to sail
And beckons worthy crew

While in my mind I see her there
Be in this life or else somewhere
Together we a love both share
And passion known to few

And bliss did live where we did rest
And life became the very best
As we passed each grueling test
Together, me and you

So still in day more hope I pour
Within the cup that needs no more
And look to see no wining score
What more is there to do?

But live each day until its end
Pray for love while I pretend
Live this life as fate does send
And hope I make it through

Hi Dixie, I've got the week off, unfortunatly hurt my back playing squash, so has not been a good week for me yet, so the computer seat is my refuge and poetry my time. I am enjoying my inspiration, not sure where it is coming from and not complaining. Raining here in Aussie land, just as well I say, crying for me.
Have a great day.

Rick, you, dear inspiring poet ~ that's "inspiring" ~ not "aspiring" ~ serve MORE than a cup of hope with your poetry!

So very much enjoyed your hope shaded with reality.  The closing lines perhaps sum up many of our lives.
