TAPS Engaged for the service, this sullen lone bugler sings. Singer for the lost, the brave, and Patriots for truth… He alone designated to portray this lonely song of love, honor, and respect, as he cries his trumpeting blues… Unchanging… the words unspoken, this lonesome tune always the same, yet never to miss a note, and never to be refrained. He possesses the song of death, in that he sings well trained. To give to all who have died, their last breath and word, for their memories sustained. . . . Our cause is noble; it is the cause of mankind! ~George Washington What I used to do with one hand tied behind my back now requires every muscle in my body, cohesively. |

The sound of TAPS is such a lonely and haunting sound. I can feel it in the very marrow of my bones. You have done a very fine job of capturing the thoughts, feelings and memories that TAPS conjure up. ~ Lest we forget... Happy 4th hugs, EA P.S. We celebrate Canada Day on July 1. |

Enjoyed this, JL, even though it moved me into "sad". |
