PRICE TAGS There were price tags And price stickers Black marks and rips Where prices had once been There was gift wrap And gift bags And tissue paper There was packaging around Many wonderful things And she handed me a paper sack In it was a hand made card As some of the others had done And a pinwheel on a stick And a rock A rock she had painted Just for me I watched as she looked on proudly It was all she had And she made it for me A little paint and a smile And it was the best gift I got For my birthday that year… There was no price tag On my rock-- You just can’t put a price tag On a rock… -dgvarner |

Nothing can replace that kind of love DGVarner. This brought a smile as I read this ... along with the urge to call my mom up! Very much enjoyed. Nice to read you again! Best wishes, /Kit |

Hey guys! Thanks so much for reading! I'm so happy to get your replies This was something I watched while at a birthday party for a friend of my 9yr old. She was so appropriate to the little girl who painted her a rock--I was moved by her gentleness with the situation... It was an awesome rock...! hugs, g "...Never regret anything that made you smile..." |

Oh! I got tears reading this! Pet rocks are the best things when special hearts and hands embellish them with love. So glad you shared this. ~ K |

I know... I'm late... but just wanted ya to know that I was here... and I read... and this made me smile... especially loved the end... "There was no price tag On my rock-- You just can’t put a price tag On a rock…" makes me want a rock... love ya, gale... "When the power of love overcomes the love |
