She saw him standing in the light
that was cast from the coffee shop.
Staring, even though it’s not right,
was drawn by him and couldn’t stop.

Choosing to stay and sit awhile,
in order to watch him some more,
she cast  him a shy little smile
when he did come through the shop door.

Very soon they began to talk
about all and everything.
Leaving there they went for a walk,
within the closeness the night brings.

Through the long night they wandered there,
pouring out their hearts desires.
Now there was morning in the air,
and their situation was dire.

He was to catch the morning train,
and this magical night must end.
Then as he stood and clasped her hand,
now wasn’t the time to pretend.

Looking down into her blue eyes,
he told her of the love he felt.
She declared too, with a deep sigh
that her own heart did surely melt.

So now she waits in endless hope
he really will return  to her.
She does wonder if she could cope,
if memories is all they were.

I love this soft, romantic tale which flowed so beautifully upon the page.

It is wonderful to read your work.

A vividly descriptive vignette! I felt as though I was that woman and those were my memories!
