     ‘Voice’ of  Der Sturm

["the wind that blows...
  is (far, FAR) more than
  any man (truly) 'knows'(!)"
    -H.D. Thoreau]

Evening thunder spoke…
(with the cacophonous cadence
    of chaos)
in ‘cumulo-nimble’ light-tongues
licking the mountains and clouds
with wanton and wild abandon,
to prove beyond any doubt
how infinitesimally small…
are  the ‘powers’ and dreams
and diaphanous schemes of man!

Secondhanddreampoet,

Nice work on the storm poem, I enjoy learning new words like “diaphanous”.  Of course, we don’t have storms like that here in Philly.  We’re God’s people, and protected from such things.

sir, this is another of my favorite of your poems.  For this poem, I should find a sacred place and let you stand there so I could plan flowers around.

truly fine write in one breath.

like Mr.Jordan, I learned a new word.

Didn’t Thoreau say, “to get the value of a storm, we must be out a long time and travel far in it, so that it may fairly penetrate our skin…” ? He seemed pleased to be drenched by a storm, as it made him appreciate his indoor comforts. An interesting analogy to life’s duality, it’s challenges and it’s sweetness.
