There was the box, tucked away from harm, the lifebox, She removed it, from the safe place, dusted it off, The first box, to arrive, it held so many expectations, Expectations met, beyond thought, It was Christmas, in July. Little did she know, that Christmas, would come, every month, She opened each little thing, most of all, his words, His words, she wrapped around her heart, like a protection, a cloak of red. Her heart beat, so heavy, bursting with excitment, It had been so long, since she could feel, and she felt it, She slowly opened the letter, the topping to her birthday cake. Inside was his face, for her eyes to behold for the first time, She could feel the world move, underneath her feet. She took a chance, loving the heart, the soul, the mind, This we know, and how we know, to be true love, love without a face, soul to soul, His face, matched, his heart, kind, caring, gentle, and those eyes, filled with many wonders. These are her thoughts, for today, and many days, she will keep them safe, Inside memory's closet, where all the boxes, boxes of love sent, are stored. For these are her treasures, of a love, the only love, That was ever true... [This message has been edited by A Romantic Heart (06-26-2007 03:59 AM).] |
