I'm leaving my girls -
they don't need me anymore.
I know this is right, but
my heart feels so sore.
It's time to move on
for what's best for me,
but the tears cloud my mind
and the future's hard to see.

Almost eight years I've spent
watching them learn and grow.
It's so very hard to let go,
But somehow I'll get through.
I'm counting the days until the end
but we'll all keep in touch and
through time my heart will mend.
