Free Yet Captive The shoreline catches the tide as it rises to its crest and the afar end of the jetty disappears save a few of the larger stones. Seagulls are chanting impatiently, and await the evening when the receding tide will provide its treasure of tasty treats… Somehow these birds seem to be all alone… Where are your offspring, where do you hide them? How have you existed all these many years? How are you comforted along these shores and reefs? Yet they are most certainly not without a home… Free yet captive ☺ "The man who reads nothing at all is better educated than the man who reads nothing but newspapers." ~Thomas Jefferson [This message has been edited by JL (06-14-2007 06:08 PM).] |

Each to their own port in a storm. We are all captive of our natures, and the few that break out from the ordinary, soar, like Jonathan. Thank you for bringing him back to mind... Yep. Those who step outside the box make history. Not always for the good, but more so than not. You've got a thinker here, JL. It's good to read you again. |
