Depression: A Struggle Within As I sit here in this chair I realize I need to care About who I am And start giving a damn Nowhere Sucking for air Stuck in a black pit Refuse another hit Going through the day All I do is play Expressions denied just gonna hide I hear the symphony inside my head Now I begin to dread What is going to happen in my life Will it be filled with utter strife As I fight the struggle within My mind inside begins to spin Depression has begun to feed The soul slowly starts to bleed |

First poem...a solid entry, and one I relate too all too well. A fatal disease, that nearly killed my sister and would have done the same for me...oh yes, I know it all too well. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

Good descriptive poetry of a current mood/dilemma. I have a piece I will shortly post on serious depression, but the only way to attempt cure is exactly what you are doing in this piece. To analyse the feelings and make a decision in regard to but independent to, your feelings. This is an extremely good piece of poetry, in which you show that to remedy any situation you first have to recognize it. Ivor The moment created this second, is a moment that's going to last. |

Hello! ~ and welcome to 'Pip Place'. Depression can be the result of anger that is not expressed outwardly, but turned within. Perhaps your anger could be expressed outwardly through your poetry. Vent away, Nameless One! As 'they' say, an empty house is better than a bad tennant! We're 'hear' to listen! Depression can be a debilitating state of being. I have known moments of despair, but life has a way of surprising us with wonderful moments that lie 'round the bend! Giving you a warm, welcoming hug, EA |

Thank you all for your support. This was from last year and my first poem ever. It was an assignment by my drawing teacher to go along with pastel portraits that we did. Unfortunately I moved from Kansas to Oklahoma. She still has it hanging in their library at the school otherwise I would have put that up also. At the time I was finally becoming smart to stop using pot and start taking care of myself. Your words mean a lot to me so thanks again. |

quote: These words mean a lot to us. Depression can be something to probably all mankind. Actually, even life outside of humans know this very thing. You are to be commended, to quit using a substance that only increases the condition. Welcome to Passions. I know you will find it within yourself to stay quite strong, and to find your way. And please, check your email for a very special greeting. " It matters not this distance now " Excerpt, Yesterday's Love ~*~ KRJ |

I enjoyed your poem. I struggled for years with that particular ailment, and I've only recently come to terms with it. For you... Its a fragile line we walk one foot planted on the slppery slope one foot poised to fall but all I want in life is just to hang on. |
