       Before a leaf releases,
falling to the ground for the dying,
it turns the colors of life in change
    taking time to rearrange
thoughts from the hearth of the heart

The chlorophylic green of youth is stripped away
    leaving the colors to lay
    gently upon the crinkled remains
browns for the toil of weary miles
reds for the blood in drain
    pale yellows for the unexplained
elements of our lives in swirl

       It takes a downward flight
on the slightest of whispered wind
    never to be seen again
    as it was
    clinging alive
    to the limb of life

       Yet in it's spiraling tumble
    it reminds us all
of what each of us were like
    before the Fall~

**Compassionately dedicated to Adagio and Leah,
and to any who have loved ones who are affected by Alzheimer's Disease.**
**I cannot let this drift by without thanking
Serenity/Karen for letting her thoughts tumble into my inking well**

the stare may floating
memory went along with wind
let love be the string

My dear Marge, thank you for the love and care.
and the poem is equally beauty as them
take good care of yourself
have a very good night
love
hugs and kisses

Even the title "Life Leaf in Flight" is memorable. Your loving nature bleeds through this entire compassionate piece of poetry.
So many of us have been touched in some manner by this debilitating disease. It is painful to watch those we love, in gradual decline...

Yes it is.

Thank you Marge, for finding the words that failed me. I'll see to it that our friends get this--it's truly a beautiful rendering of nature's cycle.

Thank you again, my friend, for taking the time to listen.

As always dear lady your words drift into my mind and lay there softly until they are needed to be turned over and examined to see their true colour of wisdom  - for others, for myself.
