. The summer light at dusk Lies in layers of color On a farmer’s fallow field From blue through white Finally to bronze the hues Fill the misty air A single tree Rises above the level ground All its limbs reaching for the sky And when a soft wind Passes upon its solitude It listens to the rustlings Of its own leaves . |

as beautiful as the dusk as soft as the color as rich as the field As pure as the white As layered as the hues As feathery as the air As energetic as the tree As solid as the ground As broad as the sky As smooth as the wind As serene as the solitude As whispering as the rustlings As lively as leaves |
