. The night rain Comes down In waves that wash Over the trees Along a darkened road It drums On the roofs A sudden stampede Pours in streams Cascading from the eaves One wonders in silence Where the sparrows hide And what he would find When he went back inside It seems You’re in bed Still sleeping like a child And then Just beyond the balcony A bolt of lightning Cuts across the sky . |
