Essential Truths and Immutable Love When Spring is still dazed by Winter’s indifference, and my soul longs to squeeze all beauty from each new blade of grass on the shivering hills, my mind meanders... (in restless-twilight memories beyond a furtive sunset) through storm-fevered winds on wilderness seas in a world of endless uncertainty. My lonely heart drifts afar... (with the bright, reverberant scents of softly whispering ‘poet dreams’) in purest pursuit of infinitely simple essential ‘truths’ and immutable love! Exploring the mystery inherent in the eternal, one might say that love takes its form of action from truth, and truth obtains its power from love. Neither one alone, however, comprises a human being. In this poem, you have wisely included both in the same breath, as each becomes the other and together they make one. Makes me think of D.H. Lawrence. Well crafted, hypnotic and beautifully done! |
