.

To the tune
Of a tin whistle
Being played

Spectral figures
Dance together
Along the pebbled shore

With each step
Soft as it is
More of who they were
Drifts away

Until at last
There’s no one left
Beneath the light
Of an autumn moon

Simply superb!

[one of the finest 'writes'
  I've ever seen]

I am not often 'deeply impressed'
but, this is most assuredly one
of those times!

MUCH applause!!

This sings as sweetly as any south wind song ever heard, and is an exquisite note to leave upon a soul's ears!

Soft as it is
More of who they were
Drifts away

A delightful read! MHO, it's your best yet, John.
