. Around the light On the back porch They gather Each summer night To flutter their wings Were it not for the glass The glow they seek So hard to become a part of Would set them on fire As will Or may well happen Tomorrow or the day after Or the day after that It is a madness To any witness Who watches detached Such wild displays Even to the young man Just returning home So late from seeing his girl And yet What is life including his Brief as it already is Without that ever However irrational urge To consummate desire . |
