Never got around to saying that I love you But crawl up behind my eyes and you will know That doesn’t mean that I didn’t want too Words exchanged, written, carefully spoken not to misconstrue Re-run in camera on the other side of midnights pillow And still I never got to say that I love you Always composing within the smoke rings of my mind that billet-doux That remains incomplete, unwritten albeit sometimes in diminuendo But yet that doesn’t mean I didn’t intend too It is obvious that love is a beginning with no end for you And I forever the dreamer on the other end of midnights tomorrow May never get around to saying that I love you I dream like the albatross, always a wanderer with things to do In the knowledge that we may never sail the Orinoco That doesn’t mean that I will never want too Do I now speak or forever hold my peace in situ Or wait whilst the sunrise holds meetings on velvet sorrow To find that I never got around to saying that I love you Still that doesn’t mean that I didn’t want too |

I'm off to read more of your work! thanks for sharing this with us here... Be well RDB Be kind at heart....for everyone you meet has their own battle to fight......... |

tp - I do hope you get around to saying it because of all the things one wants to do in life, that is the most important for ourselves and for others. Still, feeling it is okay and those who can climb will know. That aside, a most touching and well written poem. You should write more often. Take care! Helen |

Helen, writing more often would be nice, but life keeps interrupting. Life through the view finder of a camera tends to be very distracting to many other good intentions that often end up being waylaid. |

Interloper, provided I get to stand still long enough in the same place as another I shall. |
