Wine to still the mind,
whiskey for the dreams,
and a moonlight serenade
all that seems to be.

Dulcet are the tones
in the aftermath of tears
and soft the finger touch
that calms a woman’s fear
but long ago serenity
can’t creep up from the rear
and sing again so graciously
close to a listening ear.

Wine to still the mind,
whiskey for the dreams,
and comes again that serenade
I need to hear, to feel,
until winter bows defeated
to summer’s ecstasy!

Helen~
While I don't do whiskey
and I don't do wine
I could sip a glass of your poetry
for the all of time~

I enjoyed your 'moonlight serenade'~

Helen, I feel ya!  I feel the melancholy but you always lead me out of it with your end notes.  May your summer have its ecstasy!   ....jo

Thank you all so much for reading and for commenting and, Jo, there's always a summer waiting to come around again - so says that moonlight serenade but I forget, you know.

Helen
this....
Wine to still the mind,
whiskey for the dreams,
and comes again that serenade
I need to hear, to feel,
until winter bows defeated
to summer’s ecstasy!

a most certain drip, drip, drip into the intoxication of not fo feel....

this was a profound depiction and left me hanging in the breeze....wonderfully done lady
