You must have
read my mind
each night
I sat up
and cried

You must have
followed the bread crumbs
I left behind
as I meandered lost
coddling
my broken heart

I was certain
that I was making
wishes on
empty stars

The pain seemed
impossible to shake
until
You read
my broken soul's
personal ad

My soul was plastered
upon the paper moon
desperately seeking
a response

You must have
heard me cry out your name
as I waited for you
upon the paper moon...

almost followed the sadness to cry.

beautiful.
