I scan yon ridge of blue-stemmed prairie, Whilst feel the cool of south wind's blow, How long I will on this spot tarry? I must admit I do not know. My weary eyes are wont to gaze Upon a setting sun, Not rise of Sol nor noontime blaze, But on vespertine's horizon. I sit and wait for day's demise, As summer sun is now descending, Twilight's fall gilds western skies, Soft glow of daytime's ending. I scan yon ridge at end of day, And from this spot I shall not stray. |

And under gray of skies and cool of day, Where great bonny blue petals are displayed to my ear comes kind words so fine from a prairie's poet, sweet words, sublime. |

I love this "I sit and wait for day's demise, As summer sun is now descending, Twilight's fall gilds western skies, Soft glow of daytime's ending." and the summer evening skies M |
