with but the slightest touch
of a fingertip I travel your body
not north to south nor east to west
but much as a child might do while
exploring a tidal pool
slowly,
cautiously,
but with an anticipation and fascination
at each newly found wonder-
a need,
a need to touch, to feel,
to draw you in through the pores
of my fingertips-
to savor every inch of your being
focussing not on lip nor breast
but on the essence,
the essence of you.

Listening to every heart

This brought back a tactile memory, Tim,
of when I was very little and had the pleasure
of sitting on a grandparent, or parent's lap,
and my thumb would go round and round
over their nails.  One parent's hand might be polished,
the other parent's hand rough with the day of hammering nails
and laying cement.

Still, the memory is there, and you brought it
home again.
