if only she was as wise as the ocean
tides come and go, just as the seasons
moments pass by quickly, oh how time flies
moments lost, memories though are kept
she smiles

fighting not to run, she stood her ground
in weakness, she found strength
running freely like the wind
no longer feeling held down
she smiles

chains broken, unlocked forever
her heart now whole
wiping away tears of happiness
she looks towards her future
she smiles

she touches the thorn
she bleeds
she feels the pain
this time though it is different
she still smiles

the rain serves to remind
a lifetime of heartache
the sun now comes out
and she smiles

"When life gives you sorrow, may you experience the spirit of laughter"

I liked the idea of being set free from your binds... so many of us - need to do just that... and then remember to smile.
