Paper Music My soul soars free on winged dreams, Sweet music pours from my pen onto the page, Never voiced to melody upon an open stage, Yet rhythmic and heartfelt within its streams. Exploring the complexity of life within its themes, From love to loss and humor to rage; My soul soars free on winged dreams, Sweet music pours from my pen onto the page. One day, mayhap, when ink on old parchment still gleams, Passion’s words may be sung aloud to melodious gauge, And long forgotten weavings of a literary mage, Once again provoke emotions and thoughts to writhe and teem; My soul soars free on winged dreams, Sweet music pours from my pen onto the page. ****************************************************** *A rondel is a variation of the rondeau (French Poetry Style), a poem of 14 lines in which the first two lines of the first stanza are repeated as a refrain that form the last two lines of the second and third stanzas, thus creating a rhyme scheme of ABba abAB abbaAB. what a beautiful one. I read three times to feel the flow of the music between the lines. It is better read in the early morning, not wines, beers, with just a cup of green tea. enjoyed. truly a beautiful one. |
