A Prayer for Wayward Sons Correct those wayward sons who stray Leftward or to right Those who drift in shadowlands Those who flaunt the light Those who strive and go too far And those who lag behind Those who doubt all seeing eyes And inspectors working blind While exiled they may seem opposed And far from being kin Their polarity may yet reveal A deeper bond of sin The momentum of a neighbor’s fall Springs from a native’s side Through error just as deadly False humility spawns pride Still partial truths may nurse a spark Of Hope somewhere in ashes A smoking flax that won’t be quenched Distinct from all the clashes Which up till now defined them And announced what they were not Blackened vessels bumping Kettle calling to the pot Clanging like a cymbal While the world sees nothing shine Heal them Lord of heresy And of presuming they’re divine Correct these wayward sons who stray From whose eyes our glances flee For a haunting family likeness Which reminds so much of me |

You manage to do this without being judgemental when you include yourself there my sweet brother! A poet, A pray-er, A hotsauce maker! YAY you! Now give us a kiss! |
