Spring's In The Air There's something about my mood that seems to change come April and May. The days get longer, and much warmer ~ maybe that's why, I can't say. There's a newfound bounce in my step the chill of winter could not bring, As I notice tiny shoots and buds poking their heads up every spring. Now each crocus and snowdrop on my path gives way to a tulip or daffodil. Taking in a breath of clean fresh air eliminated many a drug store pill. I love the feel and smell of nature's earth on my hands as I plant the ground. I love the early morning songs I hear, as birds begin waking all around. Chickadees who braved the cold seek out long lost friends at last, To sweetly harmonize familiar tunes they've done in summers past. The steller jays, and woodpeckers are back to steal each other's food. Squirrels watch where they put it, and then snitch it when the getting's good. The geese that stayed are now mixing with the geese that flew down south. The hawks and eagles nests are busy feeding every newborn mouth. Wildlife sneaks down our mountainsides after a long hibernation's sleep. All household pets called in at night, as this is when predators creep. I'm convinced this season's purpose is just medicine for the soul, Renewing, re-energizing, re-inspiring us to become more complete, or whole. Whatever the reason there is spring I am certainly glad it's here. I'm rejuvenated, relaxed, and now able to take on another year. Carpe' Diem ~* Happy Spring Everyone *~ Life seems to take me many places these days, but I do come to read every chance I get, and wish you all good health and happiness. |
