                  she raised the stakes

and it boggles my mind

                 i’m amazed at her steaks

and how we toggle to climb

i’m not phased but my mistakes have left me behind

the days that I ache could make me unkind

but she pays when I wake despite her design

her praise of my Little Debbie snack cakes would help me unwind

but so far her maze of outtakes remind

                         to keep praying
