Eyes wide open Or closed shut tight It doesn’t matter which. The world still spins so fast I can’t keep my head upright In a moment of bravery (or stupidity, I’m not sure which) I loosened my grip ever so slightly But the force of motion was enough to Send me crashing Face first into the ground So lesson learned. I think. Broken, bruised and intimidated By the cold, hard ground I decide to stabilize, rather than leap So I set my focus on something secure, something still But as soon as my eyes adjusted I lost sight And I’m lost once again I’m grown up now I shouldn’t be scared Of this Merry-Go-Round But this ride, This ride was something I was not prepared for. So excuse me, Mr. God If you will, please slow down. I think I’d like to get off now. |

effective, powerful 'write'! I can particularly relate to the following [which rather delimits my 'life']: I’m grown up now I shouldn’t be scared Of this Merry-Go-Round "But this ride, This ride was something I was not prepared for. So excuse me, Mr. God If you will, please slow down. I think I’d like to get off now(!)" Applause! |
