Without notes they still sound undeniably clear as a melody sung for the eyes, not the ears woven into a theme by their masters' command would that I held such skills in the palm of my hand. Such a song surely would have to come from the heart without pretense perfomed for the sake of the art that the reader may hear and in this way connect on some level beyond what we've come to expect. Would that I held this skill to transmute what I write, like the alchemists' goal, not to be taken light, such pursuits change the man more as not from the base to allow us a glimpse of our own state of grace. Would that I held such skill in the palm of my hand, even now the song fades, which I don't understand. |

I never met a doctor who did not long for gold. Be mindful of the process, Doc, the cost may be your soul. Drape your windows carefully lest others see the light you cast-- for lines will form accordingly as wide and deep and vast as the yearnings of the seas will eat the lands until they meet-- such is the ways of peopling who suffering from lack of eat will pound upon your door and more taking all you can afford until you've given all you've got then they will steal the very pot that fed them all so magically-- for that is what became of me! Burn your incense as a guise to blanket sulphurs that will rise as you dabble chemistry: Enchantment reeks of heresy! A cautionary tale I tell, a heretic condemned to Hell for doing what I thought was good-- the crowds still came but carried wood to hurry on the death of me. My carcass glittered in the ash, the alchemy achieved at last! My very bones made of the gold I had sought diligently; these words the story that they told: "Here she lies--Idolatry!" Tell them not that I'm alive lest they torture me anew. The fire burned but I survived. I pray they do not come for you. God knows they love a sacrifice-- and I've no wish to be fried twice. couldn't resist. Alchemy? Is for the fearless. Well done? *laughing* Nope. I do believe you are "rare". |

Midnitesun, Thank you. Doc Sunshine, Thanks, glad you liked Doc Serenity, LOL @ your most artistic reply, especially the part about " fried twice " which would(of course) be quite different from my own condition of being " half baked ". Thanks doll. Doc |

If all I spun was threads of gold as Moose would will his verse. A siren's song may then be heard to lure all with my curse. A heritic from bowls of hell or maybe something worse. No matter where my motives lay or holy deeds fulfilled, or serenity found in my blaze all man would see was ills. For even if I made it three and joined your wanton need to understand the inner strengths that dwell in mankind's seed. I know that everything I feel that's not of earthly game, in messages from higher souls who call their friends by name, is collect freely as bestowed and helps relieve life's pain. But alas, as Thomas taught, denial, though in vain, is one's reward for touching, and the label of insane. The magic that we brought to man would cost us by man's fear to join the ranks of pariah that no one would revere.... |

As is evidenced above serenity does rest her case and proves the worth of all the miles paced so restless to escape presumption and the chopping block "I'm glad I have a little neck" I wish you all the best, my love, and know that I will not forget the oath as by Hippocrotes: [stage light flickering surprise] "Fare well," whispered serenity, "Beware a path trodden too wide." That's twice, you got me out of hiding Doc. I just can't help m'self with you, tho. I told a friend in e mail recently, in the legend of the Grail, which I think compares to philosopher's stone--a knight could not embark into the wood by a path already made- the knight must blaze a trail all his (her?)own. So forgive my lapse of etiquette by following you--it's just the berries there were soooooooo sweet! Thank you for being so obliging. Yer the doll, lovie. Thank you for today. |

ivordavies, Many thanks for your poetic reply, though, what I was trying to convey here was a different slant on the alchemists' pursuit, not so much dealing with the material as the ethereal. Doc Drauntz, Thank you. Always looking for thst " little something different ", a perspective that may not have used in such a way before, for even though we are all unique in our lifes' experiences, I most-times feel as though I have very little to say that would reflect that. Doc Serenity, I think the villagers around here are a little in awe of the bumbling lummox that spouts poetry( much like certain indian tribes believed the mentally imbalanced to be guided by the spirits ). About the only alchemy I have been guilty of lately is trying to perfect a great tasting Manhattan out of an average tasting liquor with "mixed" results ( Oh, I am bad!). Good to hear from ya, don't be afraid to jump in anytime, I miss the old days. Doc LeeJ, Thank you, I suspect you're right about the romantic part. Doc |
