I could watch you all day
as you are beautiful
and everything that is right
in the world.
There's no evil in your eyes
just love and trust,
my most loyal friend
you've been there from the start,
and I wish you could be there
till the end.
Seems wrong that a bond so strong
can be ripped apart,
When all I want to do
is protect you
and keep you from harm.
With tears in my eyes
I take you in
as I know you're soon
to be taken away.
I just wish I could show you,
make you understand,
that in my darkest days
you have been the light
the source of my strength
and the restorer of faith
and for that
I will be eternally grateful
and hold you forever
in my thoughts
and in my heart.
