There will be no reasoning with the rain …..

I’ve tried to keep my mind busy
and my heart, preoccupied
still the rain fell

and in my cooking and cleaning today
I could do nothing to stop
your smile from invading my
world and consuming my every
emotion

I pleaded with the rain,
let me simply be soothed….
I’ve not forgotten his eyes
or forgotten his voice
he still is loved more
than you have drops
to fall….in my lifetime

I heard the thunder scream through the sky
and I knew

There will be no reasoning with the rain…..

Oh Sue!!
This is so beautiful
and such and ache of memory.
Well done..well done indeed!

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart..
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul.

When the ocean is swept up and out
into the clouds, and falls once again
into the sea...

then is when your poetry returns...

and returns it well, indeed.

You did an amazing job of interlacing an ordinary day, ordinary activities with the extraordinary power of mother nature and love.  What is most amazing is that you did it perfectly, touchingly and with real heartfelt emotion.

Somewhere ... your thoughts play me again~

'I’ve not forgotten his eyes

to fall….in my lifetime'

You knew I'd find this to be so touching~
I did .. I do~

Oh, what a beautiful intimacy with the rain, masterfully blended tunes between your heart and the sound of Nature.

Exquisite!

powerful, emotional, effective 'write'!

I especially liked the following (which
virtually stands alone as a poem in its own right!):

"I knew.....
There will be no reasoning with the rain...."

much applause!

SEA,
water is truly your element and you may not be able to reason with the rain but you take masterful control over its flow in this poem.
Magnificent parallel writing with the weather and thoughts.

Not sure why, but this reminded me of my ex-wife...once she made up her mind, there was no reasoning with her...there was nothing I could do, to win her back...James

How beautiful these words. I believe we've all pleaded with the rain to no avail from time to time but perhaps not as eloquent as you do

Good God! I have missed you!!! This is BRILLIANT. I am sorry that I just dissapeared into thin air. Life has kept me extremely busy, though no excuse.

BUT I'M BACK NOW. AND THIS....this this this ...was georgeous!

Another powerfully evocative write!
Perhaps one should never try reasoning with the rain. But I've stood in downpours, and cursed many clouds.

More truth in those words than I care to admit. The entire poem touched a cord deep inside me. But that phrase hit the hardest....why? I guess I will have to write a poem to find out. LOL
