if I speak often of silence, it is only... but then, why would you care if whispers turned pale and clouds wisped through my eyes when I turned from you? your time is short and mine too full to include Spite simply for the sake of itself. you charge me with Diffidence, I label you Gone. - - - - - enter the stone: he is cast, cultured like marble for the tabletop - precious, expensive, but too smooth to be easily liked; I know, you've always preferred your men a bit on the rough side, edges uneven, not curled. striated, tinctures of quartz (such a fragile failing) wandering through a murky darkness as pertinent to his personality as the sky is to the sea. - - - - - exit the rock: weather-worn, I still grate your flow despite a respite. I am humble before the pride and choose only to ride out the waves, let you buff some of those jagged edges until your head can rest comfortably on my shoulder. I am solidity, an amalgamation of pasts that you now go to join. - - - - - one must wonder if civilization has convinced you of the need to preserve the environment, to grab at culture, instead of resting in the wilderness. for though the silence has separated us, I know: you will never be comfortable with manufactured love. |

smiling just seeing your name in the scroll is a treat, and I loved your ending, even as I wondered-- "you will never be comfortable with manufactured love." It is amazing though, how close Merck can come to the mimickry of that. And I tilt my head sideways at the construction of this, as a poetic drama, nicely done too. I love your head. |

This poem deserves a standing ovation. I liked it lots. Especially the closing line. Hugs Kimberly |

I thought about this one all night. (alright, not all night, but it was there flickering like a votive or somethin') but it reminds me of Moses--Enter the Stone--Exit the Rock, but then I generally read too much (is that possible?) or should I say--I read much too generally? I dunno, but the style and execution of this reminded me of Moses and, nod, laugh if y'wanna (I still can't hear you) but the only thing missing is the burning bush. Still love it, though. 'Cause um, I can do without a burning bush. I get the message, already! Sheesh. |

but then, why would you care if whispers turned pale and clouds wisped through my eyes when I turned from you? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ you charge me with Diffidence,( I had to look that word up) I label you Gone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am humble before the pride and choose only to ride out the waves, let you buff some of those jagged edges until your head can rest comfortably on my shoulder. I am solidity, an amalgamation of pasts that you now go to join. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ these are the parts that stood out for me...that really had the most impact. I liked the ending too, but the begining is intense....and the comparisons I could relate to on a personal level. very much enjoyed this Kissy. |

Behind the rough edges of the geode lies a sparkling crystal. Your muse is rare and priceless. |

Believe me when I say that any response that I could write would surely pale in comparison to how I truly feel about this out-standing piece of uniquely creative poetry! Kudos to you, Dear Christopher! I also enjoyed reading the replies! Loving Light, Linda |
